As has been oft discussed recently, luxury car manufacturers in India are looking forward to tap into the small car market here. As announced earlier this year, Mercedes Benz will be bringing in A Class and B Class cars to the Indian car market.
Premium hatchbacks from Mercedes Benz, BMW, and Audi will grace the Indian car market in the next 3 to 4 years. The 2012-2013 Mercedes B-Class Spyshot Winter Test in Northern Sweden late last year saw the next B-class to be an apt answer to the Audi A3 Sportback.
Engine specs include a petrol base model B180 CGI powered by a 1.6-liter engine that produces 122 HP and 200 Nm of Torque. Specifics for the B200 CGI powered by the same 1.6-liter engine read 156b HP, and max 250 Nm torque. Diesel options include a B180 CDI powered by a 1.8-liter records 109 HP and 250 Nm of torque from 1,400 rpm. The B 200 CDI version records specs of 136 HP (100 kW) and 300 Nm of torque from 1,600 rpm. All Mercedes Benz B Class variants will host slimline four-cylinder units and the choice of a and a 6-speed manual transmission, and optional DCT.
